Summary:
”Aetbaar” by Shanzeh Shah is a profoundly moving and intense narrative that explores the fragile nature of love, trust, and the devastating reality of betrayal.
The story initially unfolds with a captivating and romantic charm, capturing sweet moments of connection, emotional warmth, and the blooming of delicate relationships. The narrative draws readers into an atmosphere of hope and affection, making them believe in the sincerity and protective nature of the central figures.
However, the plot takes a sharp and heart-wrenching psychological turn as the true, manipulative faces behind the masks are revealed. It exposes how deep vulnerabilities can be weaponized and how cruel human indifference can be when masks of love and concern are stripped away. The painful realization that someone you trusted completely is devoid of empathy leaves both the characters and the readers shattered.
Shanzeh Shah masterfully depicts the bitter emotional fallout of broken trust, transforming a seemingly gentle tale into a gripping exploration of heartbreak, survival, and the harsh lessons learned when confidence is betrayed.

About The Novel:
English
Marha stood with her eyes lowered. When no response came for a long while, she lifted her gaze to find him busy staring at her with his dark eyes. Marha felt it strange to be looked at like that, so she initiated the conversation herself.
”Sir, did you call me?”
”Yes, absolutely. Do you know it’s your first day and you are thirty minutes late? I am very strict about time.”
”Sorry, sir, I will be careful next time,” Marha said, running her tongue over her lips.
”The reason for being late? And please, no excuses,” Zavir spoke, looking straight at Marha.
”Sir, well, I couldn’t wake up on time, and then… I couldn’t get a rickshaw either,” Marha replied with complete honesty.
Hearing her words, a faint smile appeared on Zavir’s face.
”Okay, you may leave now. Starting tomorrow, the office car will provide you pick-and-drop service.”
”No, sir, that won’t be necessary.”
”Please, Miss Marha. Natasha will explain the work to you; I am busy right now,” Zavir said, gesturing toward the door. Marha nodded in understanding and walked out.
It had been a week since Marha started working at the office. The office car picked her up and dropped her off every day, and everything seemed normal—except for one thing that constantly unsettled her.
She felt as though she was trapped in someone’s gaze all the time, though she would dismiss it as her own imagination. Even at that moment, she was waiting outside her house for the car when a car pulled up right in front of her.
”Let’s go, Madam,” the driver said to Marha.
”Who are you?” Marha asked with surprise, because for the past week she had been traveling with a different driver.
”Madam, Zavir sir sent me… Kaleem, the one who used to pick you up before, is on leave today, which is why I came to get you. If you don’t believe me, I can have you talk to sir.”
”No, that’s not necessary. Let’s go!” As soon as Marha sat in the car, the driver sped off toward the route.
Marha, lost in her thoughts, came to her senses when the car finally stopped. Looking outside, she saw a small house and stared at the driver in utter shock.
”Where have you brought me?”
At Marha’s words, the driver looked back at her in bewilderment.
”Madam, sir told me right here…”
Without listening to the rest of the driver’s sentence, Marha quickly scrambled out of the car, only to see two strange men standing right in front of her—real fear gripped her instantly.
Just as she turned around to run back, another figure appeared right in front of her, giving her no chance to understand anything before pressing a handkerchief to her mouth and plunging her into unconsciousness.
Marha opened her eyes with a spinning head. She was currently inside a room that was remarkably beautiful, but all she knew was that she was trapped in an unknown place.
She leaped off the bed in a jerk and rushed her steps toward the door. Before her hand could touch the handle, voices drifting from outside caught her attention.
”Hey, has the girl regained consciousness yet?” one man asked the other.
”No, I just checked a little while ago.”
”Alright, when is the boss coming?”
”I asked just now; he said it will take some time, but keep a close eye on the girl—she shouldn’t go anywhere.”
Hearing the voices from outside, she realized they still believed she was unconscious. Since there were men stationed outside, she couldn’t dare make the mistake of leaving through that door.
Searching for anything useful, her gaze scanned the room—until it landed on the window.
