Rishna’s severe mental stress during pregnancy, enduring all hardships alone, and Phupi Amma standing by her like a shield bring tears to the reader’s eyes. Despite all this, Rishna’s refusal to step back from her duties highlights her immense inner strength.
On the other hand, Rameez’s character reflects human vulnerability—how getting blinded by temporary charm and outer allure leads someone to overlook a sincere and devoted love. After Aiman’s arrival, Rameez feels he has found the greatest happiness in the world, but this happiness turns out to be cheap and temporary. Aiman’s selfishness, rudeness, and constant quarrels gradually show Rameez the mirror of reality. When Rameez sees how his apathy has left Rishna emotionally lifeless and how much suffering his own children are going through, his conscience finally awakens.
The most powerful aspect of the novel is the transition pointing toward a hopeful conclusion. The author brilliantly demonstrates how the universe ensures accountability when someone commits injustice against loved ones. Aiman’s behavior continuously creates problems for her own self, while Rameez comes to realize that sincerity and loyalty—which Rishna maintained through every trial—are far more valuable than outward beauty and sweet talk. Rameez’s realization of his mistake, his longing to win Rishna back, and the eventual undoing of all wrong decisions offer a profound sense of relief to the reader.
