The most dramatic and emotional turning point of the story arrives when old rivalries and conflicts escalate, and a tragic murder intensifies the family enmity. To settle this old blood debt, a Jirga is convened, and in an act of extreme cruelty, Meeran’s daughter, Jhoomer, is handed over to Kabir Shah as a “Vani” punishment. Jhoomer, an educated and self-respecting girl, stands firmly against this oppressive and forced decision without losing her courage. She promises her brother that she will not spend her life crying, but will leave this mansion with her own free will and dignity. The clash between Kabir Shah and Jhoomer, their relationship starting from hatred, and the ensuing situations create tremendous suspense throughout the story.
The character development and emotional ups and downs throughout this journey are brilliant. Taj’s strict and vengeful nature, Meeran’s innocence, Zaib Alam’s love, and the younger generation featuring Jhoomer, Shamsher Shah, and Kabir Shah double the charm of the narrative.
